# Create a Story

A `Story` is a place where you can build and share dashboards.

**Good to know:** What you can do in a `Story`is extremely powerful, but more on this later. In this page, we'll focus on building your first dashboard.

To create a new story:

- In the `Home page` or on the side bar, click on `Stories`
- Then click on the "+" button in the top right-hand corner
- Please enter the name of your `Story`, for example, `Sales Metrics`

# Import data to your Story

Right now, your `Story` has no data in it. Let's add some!

- Go to the Transformations tab
- Then click on the "+" button in the left panel
- You can then add tables from your `Data warehouse` or even upload flat files (csv or Excel)

# Create your first Chart

To create your first chart, simply choose the columns data and then choose one of the suggested charts. For example:

- Choose one Number column and one Categorical column
- Choose the barchart
